" Define yourself, your art & your journey
or somebody else will."
I've never felt as tested as I was this week where I had to manage and run an entire flagship store for the first time in my life. There was nothing like it, I was excited about the opportunity to run a store and see what actually goes into all the logistics and operational measures put into keeping it up and efficiently functioning. I learnt so much and it was such a liberating experience all on its own so thank you to Typo for that. The staff I had in store with me was so amazing and they sacrificed so much of their own time outside their scheduled hours to help me get our store in shape for festive trade. (Thank you Liam Leechi and Kabelo) Now that our store manager is back from leave I can actually take a break and just breathe. Think about my project, getting all the finishing touches complete, getting packaging right and eventually putting it out there so people can start getting their hands on this product.
I work for everything I have, and I build up my own capital for all my projects so things may be a little slow at times but they always come together in the end so I hope people can bare with me if it takes a little longer than expected if they really are looking out.
What depresses me is not being able to communicate.
For the longest time I've done this through my lyrics, blogposts, updates and a mini newsletter I've been working on so having my phone jacked the past couple weeks was the worste shit ever!!
Outside of that, a lot of other things have been neglected for a while.
I'm only starting to realise now how balancing a job like mine and then pushing my creative work on the side is really no game. Time is the most expensive commodity there ever will be, so one needs to start moving strategically.
The great news is that my 6 track body of work is finally complete! Just doing all of the finishing touches on it.
You can expect crazy lyricism, mesmerising concepts and tricky word play.
My stuff is inspired by the mystical world of wizards, sphinx, magicians, unicorns and everything else that we need a strong imagination for in order to fully experience.
I believe in our abillity to choose to exist in more than one dimension, why would you limit yourself knowing you can go further?
I really enjoy creating stuff in my imagination and than translating it in my music as an alternate world or space that I can re-inhabit. This is just how I liberate myself.
So I got the stickers done this week, the journey continues.....
" Define yourself, your art & your journey
- or somebody else will."
